Avalon offers psychotherapy to adults of all ages and has experience with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, developmental trauma and sexual abuse, psychosis, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), dreams, spirituality, religion/religious abuse, and identity.
Avalon will partner with you to cultivate an authentic relationship that supports your journey toward exploration, understanding, and transformation. Her warm, playful, and open style helps foster a safe environment where subconscious and unconscious thoughts and feelings are free to surface, allowing one to delve deeper into--and start to expand--the self.
Avalon is a psychoanalytic therapist who draws upon aspects of internal family systems (IFS), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dream analysis, and active imagination. For the past five years, she has worked in community mental health settings and private practice in London and New York.
Avalon holds a master’s degree in social work from New York University and a master’s degree in religion in global politics from The School of Oriental and African Studies (London). She is a fellow in the psychoanalytic training program at The Training Institute for Mental Health (New York) and is also a certified mindfulness and yoga teacher.
Avalon is a clinically focused, licensed social worker registered with New York State and the Bermuda Counsellors Association.
