10th Anniversary Open House with Free Wellness Workshops

Solstice, Bermuda’s premier mental health and wellness center, is excited to announce its 10th Anniversary Open House on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. This milestone event celebrates a decade of supporting the island’s mental health and well-being and community collaborations with partner organisations. In addition, they will be offering the community a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and engage through a series of free workshops led by Solstice’s clinical experts.

Explore our new space, meet our team, and learn about the programs and services that have made Solstice a cornerstone of mental health care in Bermuda.

Free Community Workshops: Dive into thought-provoking, practical sessions on topics that matter.

  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
    Presenters: Zul Lee, Dr Jessica Gordon and Miriam Shaya King

    An engaging conversation about the importance of open discussions around sexuality and its impact on health and relationships. Attendees will explore common challenges faced by individuals and couples, while learning integrative strategies to foster healthier, more fulfilling connections.

    With insights from Dr Jessica Gordon on the “Effects of Fertility and Postpartum Challenges on Intimacy,” and Miriam Shaya-King on “How Relationship Dynamics Impact Intimacy.”

  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
    Presenters: Dr. Elizabeth McManus, supported by the Growing Minds Team Members Jordan Loving and Azaria Smith

    Gain insights into the effects of early adverse experiences on a child’s development. This session emphasizes the importance of creating supportive environments to help Bermuda’s children heal and thrive.

  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

    Presenters: Dr. Shawnee Basden and Topaz Webson
    Learn about distress intolerance—what it is, how it affects everyday life, and practical tools to manage negative emotions. This session offers valuable strategies for navigating life’s challenges in healthier, more constructive ways.

  • 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM

    Presenter: Dr Dan Cavanagh

    Learn about the Youth Mental Health Project, an initiative focused on supporting the mental well-being of Bermuda’s youth. Gain insights about the challenges faced by young people today, the goals of the project, and how Solstice is supporting resilience, healing, and growth in the next generation.
